 Dates to remember 2016:

2nd September – It will have been 350 years since the Great Fire of London began. Don’t forget to check out our Great Fire Topic Pack!                 

5th September The end of the Great Fire of London! Only 6 people were known to have died. 

 

13th September – 100th Anniversary of Roald Dahl’s Birth.

14th October – It has been 950 years since the Battle of Hastings! Learn more all about the historical battle through our Topic Pack – KS3/CE Battle of Hastings.

 

 17th October60 years ago the first commercial nuclear power station was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in Seallfield in Cumbria, England. 

28th October – 800 years since Henry III was crowned.

18th November – 100 years since the Battle of Somes ended. 

 

 

 4th December – 225 years ago the first edition of The Observer, the world’s first Sunday newspaper was published. 

7th December – 75th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbour.

17th December – It’s been 10 years since a tornado struck Kensal Green in North West London, seriously damaging about 150 properties.
